Dental Implants

If you have lost a tooth due to a traumatic event or excessive decay, dental implants can be the ideal solution for you.

Dental implants not only blend into your natural smile, but they also provide many benefits for your oral health. This state-of-the-art restoration can restore your ability to speak, eat, laugh, and smile once again.

Your dental implant will be composed of three different parts:

  • Post: This is placed into the socket of your missing tooth and bonds with your jaw
  • Abutment: It connects, supports, and secures your new restoration
  • Restoration: This could be a crown, bridge, or denture that is placed on top of the implant

Dr. Minert will insert your implant using our CBCT scanner. This modern technology allows him to identify the ideal placement of the implants and plan your procedure ahead of time.

Once the implant is placed, it needs some time to fuse with your jaw bone so a temporary restoration may be placed. After your gums have healed and the abutment has been inserted, Dr. Minert will place your new restoration on top.

Dental implants return the functionality and beauty to your smile. They can be a permanent solution to tooth loss if cared for properly.

Dentures

They say nothing lasts forever, and, unfortunately, this can be true of our natural teeth. If you have lost several of your teeth, dentures can give your smile a second chance.

Dentures are natural-looking tooth replacements that fit comfortably over the gums in your mouth. Each denture is custom-made and provides you with a beautiful and functional smile.

What we offer:

  • Full dentures: These dentures sit on top of the gums and replace an entire upper or lower set of teeth
  • Partial dentures: Partials replace a few missing teeth and are anchored to existing teeth. They help keep other teeth from moving and prevent future dental problems

Both types of dentures are designed to be removable and are custom-made using digital impressions. But we do offer a permanent option.

Implant-retained dentures (partial or full): This type of denture is secured to dental implants that act like natural tooth roots.

Thanks to its multiple anchor points, implant-retained dentures provide more stability while eating and speaking. They also promote bone and gum preservation, as well as improved dental hygiene.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns

When a tooth is severely decayed or damaged, a dental crown can protect it from further damage. The crown is placed on top of the damaged tooth to protect and restore its function and strength. With our use of modern technology, your crown will look and feel like your natural tooth while blending in seamlessly with your smile.

During the crown procedure:

  • Dr. Minert begins by removing any decay or damage
  • He then shapes the tooth to enable the crown to fit
  • Impressions of your damaged tooth and surrounding teeth are sent to the lab
  • Your crown is constructed using exact specifications
  • Your crown is placed and attached with a special adhesive

You can enjoy a fully functional and beautiful smile once again!

Bridges

Losing a tooth can be an extremely stressful situation and a potential risk for your whole-health if left untreated.

With a dental bridge, Dr. Minert can restore your smile back to health in no time. A bridge consists of one artificial tooth bonded to and held into place by two crowns. These crowns are cemented to the teeth either side of your missing tooth. The crown then acts as an anchor to hold the replacement tooth in place and thus restore your smile.

Dental Fillings

Dental Fillings are used by your dentist in Boise, ID to restore teeth that have become damaged due to decay or trauma. Instead of using outdated metal fillings, Dr. Minert uses composite tooth-colored fillings to restore your tooth in a discreet and natural-looking way.

Fillings seal a small hole in your tooth (i.e., a cavity) and prevent bacteria-induced infection from spreading any further.

During the procedure, your dentist removes all the decay and the affected area cleaned. Then, the tooth-colored resin is placed and shaped, thus filling the cavity. He’ll check to ensure it doesn’t inhibit your bite and then will polish the restoration.

Fillings are simple to place, durable, and long-lasting. This procedure is non-invasive, with outstanding aesthetic results.

It is nice to have a dentist that is invested in your dental health, and you are NOT just another patient. I recommend Dr. Minert to anyone without hesitation! ”

Inlays & Onlays

There are times when a tooth has suffered extensive damage, which results in part of the teeth being lost. In cases like this, the best option for the tooth’s survival could be an inlay or onlay.

Inlays and onlays consist of restorations created using impressions taken from the damaged tooth. These impressions are used to design an artificial substitution at our dental lab. The inlay or onlay is then bonded to the remaining part of the tooth and polished to produce a discrete restoration, thus preserving more of your natural tooth’s structure!

It’s considered an “inlay” when it fits within the little points or “cusps” of a back (premolar or molar) tooth. It’s an “onlay” if it covers one or more of these cusps. Both restorations use tooth-colored material to produce outstanding results, which allow you to regain your tooth’s function and strength!

TMJ Therapy

Are you experiencing migraines, a sore jaw, a painful neck, or ringing in the ears? Then you may be suffering from temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ). As an experienced restorative dentist in Boise, ID. Dr. Minert can help treat the cause of TMJ and provide you with pain relief.

TMJ disorder is a common issue that occurs when this specific joint becomes inflamed. It can be caused by various triggers such as stress, teeth grinding, clenching, or trauma.

After a thorough examination by Dr. Minert, a comprehensive strategy for treating and managing your symptoms will be developed. Dr. Minert may suggest changing your diet, using ice packs, prescribing medication, or wearing a specific oral appliance.

As a doctor committed to your overall wellness, he will do all he can to improve your quality of life.

Extractions

Sometimes an extraction is necessary to remove a tooth that’s causing you trouble and harming your dental health. Other times, an extraction may be required in preparation for a future procedure (i.e. orthodontics). No matter the reason for the extraction, your smile is the excellent hands with our caring Boise dental team.

Dr. Minert goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable throughout the entire extraction procedure. First, he’ll take x-rays of your tooth to reveal its length, shape, and position. Second, the surrounding area will be numbed with a local anesthetic. Afterwards the tooth will be loosened with the help of a tool called an elevator, then gently extracted in a pain-free manner.

We’ll provide you with compassionate and comprehensive care from beginning to end, plus, we can provide you with restorative options too!

Full Mouth Reconstruction

Full mouth reconstruction consists of a comprehensive approach to regain full functionality of your bite and teeth. This procedure, also known as full mouth rehabilitation, is specially designed to restore dental vitality and improve your health. Through the combination of Dr. Minert’s artistry and exceptional skills, you’ll enjoy a healthy and attractive smile once again.

A full mouth reconstruction implicates a combination of dental procedures, such as:

  • Porcelain Veneers
  • Dental Implants
  • Crowns & Bridges
  • Dentures
  • And so much more…

Your treatment plan will be tailor-made to your needs and goals. With Dr. Minert by your side, you’ll gain a beautiful, functional smile.
